After scrambling past lava rivers, radiation spots, and rocky terrain, he arrives at the mission base – a giant wheel-shaped ship. Jan soon realizes that unless he gets the base moving, the entire station will be engulfed in an intense radiation wave emitted from the sun, and he’ll be fried to a crisp. He can’t pilot the ship without a crew; there’s just too much to do for just one person. Faced with the threat of total annihilation, he makes a life-altering choice and decides to clone himself. Every storyline lands with a neat bow that feels unearned and seems more interested in setting up franchise expansion than closing this story with the weight it deserves.

How Gearbox Designs “billions Of Guns” In Borderlands 4
There’s always a point to me being here, specifically, that there is something worth discovering in the latest range of rock and danger. I just have to learn to deal with these bumps in the road, as there’s no magical perfect response that always makes every Jan happy. Some will be more pragmatic, caring more about survival than home comforts.
I was more proud of saving a brothel in Paradis than I was of deciding to have mercy on a villain who I really ought to have, in retrospect, killed. These sidequests shouldn’t be missed, and in truth cannot be, because focusing on the main quest at the expense of the XP and steady upgrade materials they provide probably won’t be feasible for most players. Despite this year’s many game delays — God of War Ragnarok, Hogwarts Legacy, Horizon Forbidden West, Gotham Knights, and many others were pushed into next year — 2021 was a great year for video games. The Horror At Highrook Review – Here There Be Monsters
As elementary as something like that is, that marriage of play and message is what makes games so special. Like every game in the modern era, Rematch has a Battle Pass and a shop where you can spend real money to get fake video game things. There is, of course, plenty of free stuff, and nothing seems overly predatory yet, but seeing this stuff in absolutely everything is exhausting. Rematch’s gameplay may invoke the glory days of arcade-style games, but there’s nothing old school about this monetization; nothing escapes from capitalism unscathed. Other than that, Rematch feels exactly like you’d want a soccer game to feel. You can dribble to fake out opponents, sprint to get ahead, pass the ball on the ground or lob it in the air, push it for an extra boost of speed (and to fake out defenders), head it or do a rainbow flick.
Sunderfolk, the latest game from Dreamhaven and Secret Door, is a tabletop RPG where your phone is the controller and your screen is the TV. It’s one of the most fun multiplayer experiences I’ve had in years. Sandfall Interactive’s debut game is a masterclass in presentation, storytelling, and gameplay. You may not have expected to see a turn-based tactics TMNT game, and especially not from one of the most prolific indie teams of the last few years. The color scheme comes from video games, where “orange” loot is often best, with purple, blue, and green tiered loot following. The story is incredibly profound, but it’s not laid on you all at once.
The crew are peeved, overworked, and understandably terrified. So you build a gym, social room, and, in true corpo-hell style, a contemplation room. Get the exercise endorphins flowing, kick back and watch a movie (which are live-action shorts by comedy sketch duo Chris & Jack), or play a few rounds of beer pong. Your crew’s anxiety fades; their designs on rebellion dissipate. The Alters is tough, relentless, unforgettable—and highly replayable for a game with such a strong narrative. Every conversation choice I make inside the base matters, and every action I take outside of it has equal weight and meaning.
